Great Lakes FAST Fund Consortium

Bringing faculty, staff, and students together to create long-term change on their campuses and beyond.

What is the Consortium?

The Great Lakes FAST Fund Consortium is a collaboration between Believe in Students and FAST Fund leaders at AFT local unions in the Milwaukee-Chicago region. The Consortium is a new and exciting effort to bring students, faculty, and other higher education professionals together to address challenges to college affordability and create a higher education system better able to support today’s college students.

Our Approach

Provide direct aid to students.

Engage impacted students as student fellows, providing organizing and communications training and creating a network for the FAST Fund on their campus.

Unite higher education employees in the region by providing education and training to local membership about key policy issues that impact both students and those who educate them and creating advocates for support.

Create a social, digital, and traditional media presence to advocate for these issues.

Advocacy Agenda

With leadership from our Changemaker Fellows, and an eye on research and best practices, we have developed an advocacy agenda guiding the focus of our consortium members to affect change on campus as well as in state and federal policy. Read Our Advocacy Agenda
I always wanted to be a part of my community, to make a change for my community, but I never knew how to do that.
